ACO proudly supports ReachOut.com as part of their Laps for Life campaign, which is open for registration until the end of February. Laps for Life is a project that has been created to raise awareness surrounding youth mental health.
ReachOut is Australia’s most accessed online mental health service for young people and their parents. 1 in 4 young people are struggling with their mental health at any given time, yet 70% do not get the help they need. Last year, over 3 million young people and their families turned to ReachOut for help and it is estimated that we prevented more than 300 fatal suicides.
Laps for Life is an annual swim event held in March, attracting over 4,500 participants in 2020. By championing Laps for Life in 2021, participants will join thousands of amazing people across Australia as we work together to support young people experiencing mental health difficulties. Because last year, 461 young people across Australia took their own lives. But together, we can work to change that.
To show our support for Laps for Life ACO will offer a 5% discount to anyone that registers to swim throughout March. Also, we will be giving $5 to ReachOut for every participant that signs up in February.
